Update by Rex

Here's some more info about the job...

It's a new start-up company called Lockerz. It was started by people who used to work at Yahoo, Amazon, and American Eagle. They are trying to be the next popular site like Facebook or Twitter.

- website started in March 2009
- execs from Yahoo, Amazon, and American Eagle
- well funded by Libery Media group, not venture capital like all those DOT COM busts from a few years ago

The site has not officially launched yet, but you can get in even though there is only a limited amount of things to do. It is targeted at Generation-Z and is currently invite only. The idea is that you invite friends and build a network like Facebook, but you earn points for everything that you do on the site. Then you can redeem your points to get free or discounted stuff to put in your locker - like ipods, video games, snowboards, handbags, sunglasses, electronics,
etc.

Good pay and benefits. Really flexible environment, but long hours. So Kasey and I are slightly concerned about me being away from the house for more than an 8 hour work day and her being home with all three kids. That's really the only thing we can see as a negative right now. Typically I would be concerned about working for a start-up company, but I've only had month-to-month work since Feb and no benefits or salary. So when you look at it that we it would still be a good offer even if they don't last past 2010. But they will... because that's why they hired me. ;)

In other news...

We met with the PA Turnpike Commission last night (Nov 12, 2009). This is the first meeting to start the acquisition process for our house. They will be purchasing it as right-of-way for a new highway. We've known this was going to happen before we bought the property and built the house in 2002-2003, we just didn't know when. This is good news. They will be buying our property for fair market value, helping us find a suitable replacement, paying for any difference in cost that would create a hardship for us, paying the closing cost on both our current property and the purchase of new property, and paying for the moving expense.

God has been wonderfully meeting our needs this entire year. It started with "How do I finish my masters degree because I need 12 weeks off in the summer to take classes?" - so He laid me off. Then it became "How do I earn a living with a new baby on the way in April?" - so He gave us severance, gov't subsidized COBRA medical coverage, and had my previous employer bring me back as a contractor allowing me to work part-time through the summer and then back to full-time in the fall... AND I don't own them tuition money if I find a better job after graduation because they let me go as opposed to me wanting to leave within 3 yrs of graduating. Then we came to "Where do we get medical coverage since COBRA expires after 9 months?" - so He provided several job leads in both PA and OH resulting in a job offer in PA. So we decided to accept it for now because we were not sure when the house was going to be purchases. So now is has become "What do we do once the house is purchased?" - We'll see what He has in store next.

Thanks for praying for us!

Is it even possible?

I am beginning to wonder if it even possible to get that perfect photo! I know Chloe is only a month old (well close enough- she will be one month on the 14th!), but I want that perfect photo of my 2 year old, 1 year old and new baby girl NOW! I want them all to be looking at me with perfect hair, perfect outfits, perfect smiles! This was a unprepared photo op, but Kayley kept on saying" picture picture" and I am all about pictures, so out came my camera. I think these pics will make a great scrapbook layout. They crack me up when I look at them. Caden had to get Chloe's sock off and then he gave it to Kayley. Kayley at first wanted to hold Chloe, but then changed her mind, and the story goes on and on. One of these days I will get the perfect photo of my three kiddos! Maybe I need to take a pic a day of the three of them. Hmmmm now that's a idea!

Happy Friday!

I am really enjoying being a mom to three! Chloe is fitting in to our family really well. She is basically sleeping through the night already (with the exception of getting up once (around 4 or 5 in the morning) I can't complain one bit! I have truly lucked out with 3 amazing babies that all adjusted well to sleeping at night! Kayley and Caden have adjusted well too! Kayley likes to hold Chloe and Kayley now likes to get her picture taken when I am taking pics of Chloe. Only problem is, everytime she wants her pic taken, her hair is dishoveled!-note to self- get Kayley prepped for pics before I start taking pics of Chloe. :) Caden is very interested in Chloe too. He likes to hold her too, but he tends to get a little pokey! Rex is really busy right now. He is doing contract work through May and possibly a little bit through June. He is currently trying to line up other freelance work now. He starts his internship mid- May and this will go through the first week of August, but after that he is done! He actually graduates from Carnegie Mellon on May 15 (he is walking), but the internship isn't officially done until August! A lot of exciting stuff going on in the Kilian household. I feel so blessed to be mommy to my 3 amazing babies! I would have never thought I would have had 3 kids one right after the other, but now that I have, I am so glad it worked out this way. I will be busy the next few years, but I am so glad that my kids will have each other. I hope they will be close! I always wanted a sibling close in age!

No Baby Yet!

I haven't updated because I have been a bit bummed! The docs decided to move my c-section from March 31st to April 14th! They did a final ultrasound and the baby isn't in the 90% mark like she was before. According to the ultrasound she is about 7pds and 1oz. which isn't overly big. So instead of the 37 weeks, they are making me go to 39 weeks! As of today, only 11 more days to go. I am trying to get things done, that I wouldn't have been able too, if she would have been her already! According to the docs, this is the best thing for her. Her lungs will be more ready, so i shouldn't complain whatsoever. They would have done an amnio to ensure her lungs were okay before the c-section at 37 weeks, but since they are going to 39 weeks, i won't need a amnio (good thing!- a procedure i don't really care for) So my countdown begins again. I can't wait to see her and i can't wait to NOT be pregnant! This being pregnant thing for 3 years has been a bit over the top!

Too Much Going On!

Wow has our household been crazy the last month and a half! It seems like ever since the beginning of February our lives have been an emotional roller coaster! It all started with Rex getting laid off from work. That was something neither one of us saw coming! We were hopeful and kind of excited amazingly. One of the things with Rex's job that we both dreaded was that after he is done with his graduate degree in August, he owed his company 3 years of working for them before he could leave. We both didn't want him tied to this job for that long and since they let him go, he owes the company nothing! They paid for most of his schooling and he owes them nothing! So that was one good thing. We were fortunate as well because he was paid vacation time and severance, and they are paying for our insurance through the end of May- which is huge with all of my extra doctors appointments with my diabetes with this pregnancy. And of course my c-section will be covered too! So a lot to be grateful for! Alot of people who have lost their jobs haven't been so fortunate. We have been amazed to see how God has provided for us! Rex started going on interviews almost immediately. He kept on getting all of these great leads, but of course none of these companies work fast! Long story short- He got some great free lance jobs to carry us through the end of May and a lot of other possiblities for after May (nothing for sure yet) Funny thing is, he really doesn't have the time for a full time job end of May through beginning of August because he is finishing up his final project (his internship) for his graduate degree. He will be working full time for a client. He will have to squeeze in free lance work at night when he gets home from his full time committment to this final project during the day that he doesn't get paid for. So he is going to be one busy guy working around the clock and weekends just so we can stay afloat financially! Besides all of that stress, he will be adjusting to a new baby in the house! We are scheduled to have our new baby via c-section on March 31st! Our lives are so crazy right now and so much is going on all at once, but like I said before, we are so amazed as to how God is taking care of us and how He is working out all of the details! I know I am writing a book here and my thoughts are all jumbled and my grammar is probably terrible, but my mind is working faster than my typing-so sorry! Maybe I will go back later and revise! Another crazy thing that is going on right now is that the Pennsylvania turnpike just contacted us on Friday and said that they are definetely going to be acquiring our property. They need it for a project they are working on. So that means our house will be no more! The bulldozer will be coming! We knew that this was eventually going to happen and we actually wanted it too! But we didn't think it would happen this fast! We will find out more details this Wednesday! Our hope and prayer is that when the appraisers do come, they will at least pay us what we owe on the house and some extra for a down payment for another house!
I am finally posting my St. Pattys Day Pics! Kayley and Caden are keeping me busy. I keep on wondering how I am going to juggle 3 babies! Kayley is just a little bit over 2 years old. Actually 2 years old and 3 months, and Caden is 1 year and 3 months and we are adding another one in the mix March 31st! Pray for me if you think of me on the 31st. I will be a nervous wreck with my c-section! I hate surgery of any kind! Pray that all goes smoothly and that I'm not scared! Well I have seriously written a book! Enjoy the pics and I am sure I will be back on here posting pics of our new little girl really soon!
